First Quorum of the Seventy

Elder Kenneth Johnson was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 1993 after having served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy since March 31, 1990.

He currently serves as Chairman of the First Presidency Committee on Restoration of Blessings and Cancellation of Sealings.  He also serves as a member of the Boundary and Leadership Committee.  Previously he served as the Assistant Executive Director of the Curriculum Department, president of the Europe West, Australia/New Zealand, Philippines/Micronesia and Europe North Areas.

After being introduced to the Church by his future wife Pamela (who also will be speaking), he was baptized in 1959.  Since that time, he has served as a Regional Representative, stake president, stake president’s counselor, bishop’s counselor, district missionary, gospel doctrine teacher, institute teacher, and district Young Men leader.

Elder Johnson is a graduate of Norwich City College and did his graduate work with the City and Guilds of London Institute of Printing, after which he was a college instructor and partner in a British insurance brokerage firm.

Prior to his call as a General Authority, he was a musician in a family band that performed at various Church dances.  He has enjoyed participating in sports activities including soccer, cricket, rugby, and athletics.

Elder Johnson and his wife 's presentation will be questions and answers submitted to the Johnson's on provided index cards. Please dress appropriately for the chapel.
